Zakat Australia is a free, independent calculator and learning resource built for Australian Muslims. It is not tied to any charity, and nothing on this site is sold. The goal is simple, to help you work out your Zakat obligation accurately in Australian dollars, using live gold and silver prices.

How the content is prepared

The calculation rules on this site are based on established Islamic jurisprudence, including the classical Nisab weights of 85 grams of gold and 612.36 grams of silver, and the standard 2.5 percent rate on qualifying wealth. Where schools of thought differ, such as the gold versus silver Nisab or the treatment of superannuation, the site explains the difference rather than hiding it. The content is reviewed by the Synergaid team against published scholarly sources, and it is guidance only. For rulings on your personal situation, please consult a qualified Islamic scholar.
